How to Cook Cauliflower ?

Maybe we are experiencing the coldest days of the year. On these cold days, you can easily apply and share with your loved ones many winter food recipes of Turkish cuisine. When you think of winter dishes, which Turkish dishes come to your mind? The first Turkish recipe that comes to my mind is; It is Turkish iç pilav (stuffed rice) with currants, cinnamon, pine nuts and chicken liver. In addition, delicious chestnut rice made with baked chestnuts is frequently consumed by Turkish families in winter. You can also consume soup recipes, which are indispensable for cold days, both to warm up and to increase your immunity. Among Turkish soups such as tripe soup, lentil soup and ezogelin soup are often consumed in winter. These soups keep us full by increasing our immunity in winter. After counting some of the dishes and soups consumed in winter in Turkish cuisine, I seem to hear you ask me what to cook today. At the end of a hard day, if you don't have much time to cook, cauliflower with ground beef can be a good option. This easy cauliflower recipe is ready in just 35 minutes. So what is cauliflower? What season does cauliflower grow in? Cauliflower is a cruciferous vegetable with fleshy and granular flowers and its leaves are similar to cabbage leaves. What to do with Cauliflower ?

You can use cauliflower in your meals using different methods. First, cauliflower can be boiled, baked or fried in oil. How Long to Boil Cauliflower ?

Hold the cauliflower for a while under running water. The dust or soil on it will be gone. If there are still dark spots or stains on it later, you can cut those areas with a knife. Cauliflower should be cut into medium-sized pieces before boiling. Soaking the cauliflower in vinegar water before boiling it will help kill the microbes in it. After putting the cauliflower in the pot, you can add enough water to cover it and boil it for about 10 minutes on medium heat. If you are going to boil it in a pressure cooker, 5 minutes is enough. If you add some milk to the water in which you boiled the cauliflower, it will not emit odor and its color will remain white.

How to Store Cauliflower ?

Cauliflower can be stored in the refrigerator in a plastic bag for 1 week. Cauliflower can spoil if it is affected by moisture. For this reason it should be preserved with its root.

Cauliflower dish is quite low in calories. For these reason, it is a good alternative for diet meals, as you will not get too many calories in your evening meals. Do not throw away the cauliflower boiling water. All the substances in its content that are beneficial for the body into the boiling water during boiling.

Cauliflower Recipe Ingredients


200 gram Minced Meat

1 Small Size Cauliflower

Half Cup (100 ml) Olive Oil

3 Chopped Garlics

2 Chopped Onions

1 Tablespoon Tomato Paste

5 Tablespoons Tomato Sauce

1 Teaspoon Black Pepper

1 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes

3 Cups (600 ml) Boiling Water






How to Prepare Cauliflower Recipe ?

Separate the leaves of 1 small size cauliflower.

Cut the cauliflower twigs into medium-sized pieces.

Boil the cauliflower for 10 minutes.

Transfer the boiled cauliflower to a separate bowl.

Pour half a glass (100 ml) of olive oil into a pot.

Add 200 grams of ground beef and roast the ground beef until its color changes.

Add 2 chopped onions and roast the onions.

Add 3 chopped garlic cloves.

Add 1 tablespoon of tomato paste.

Add 5 tablespoons of tomato sauce.

Mix the ingredients well.

Add 1 teaspoon of red chili powder.

Add 1 teaspoon of black pepper.

Arrange the boiled cauliflower side by side on the edge of the pot.

Pour the minced meat mixture you have prepared over the boiled cauliflowers.

Add 3 cups (600 ml) of boiled water.

Cook your food on low heat for about 35 minutes.

Your dish will be ready when the cauliflower soften.

Serve the cauliflower dish hot.
